Lisa “Sulli” Sullivan is known for being one of the very few women Guitar Tech’s in the business.  She started out in the mid 1980’s playing keyboards and guitar in bands in the Raleigh, Durham NC area where she learned to operate and set up sound and stage equipment.   In 1990 she moved to the Atlanta area at a time when the music scene was booming.   She made her mark in the Atlanta area as a sound engineer in a few clubs and served as a guitar tech for local musicians.   That is where “Sulli” caught the eye of the Indigo Girls.   In 1996, the Indigo Girls Guitar Tech position became available and they were looking to assemble a female crew.   

 

Sulli has toured as a guitar tech for Keb Mo, The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks) , Better than Ezra, David Crosby, Jackson Browne and more.   She spent almost 20 years with the Indigo Girls and 7 years as Guitar Tech/Backline tech for Ani DiFranco.  Sulli has spent the spring/summer of 2024 touring with Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes and will be out this fall/winter with country sensation Sugarland on their cobill with Little Big Town.
